Without dramatic reductions in GHG emissions soon we’ll be into some really bad s-h-i-t. And as Jackie correctly points out, changes are already happening fast according to the latest research linked below from the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Everyone should read this document. 1.

While 50% reduction of VMT in the next 365 days on a national level is a desirable goal, it’s not likely IMO. If everyone that thought the climate change was a very serious problem (44% of Americans) ...

HEALING OR STEALING? - YOU ARE BRILLIANT, AND THE EARTH IS HIRING

By Paul Hawken

To the Class of 2009, University of Portland

May 3, 2009

When I was invited to give this speech, I was asked if I could give a simple short talk that was direct, naked, taut, honest, passionate, lean, shivering, startling, and graceful. Boy, no pressure there.

But let’s begin with the startling part. Hey, Class of 2009: you are going to have to figure out what it means to be a human being on earth ...

Welcome,

Sorry I am late to open this forum the first week or so I was to moderate, I was unable (probably some fault of my own) to do so.

IF anyone has any personal feedback or if I have missed something important as an oversight please point it out to me.

It is my goal in the near future to get to know everyone who has been involved thus far in the Green Convene better and to begin developing a strategy to do outreach in communities around the area that might want to participate. ...

"The Transformation Cycle integrates the work of several people. Fundamentally it builds upon the work of Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, whose pioneering work on death and dying developed our understanding of the grief cycle. It also draws upon ideas from William Bridges' work on transitions and Harrison Owen's concepts from Open Space, overlaid on the structure of The Hero's Journey ...

Earthenirvana Meetings

I really need everyone to communicate to me more timely and accurately when setting up meetings here. I have no problem at all with having the room ready and available, and in fact it is the entire reason for this place existing, but unless I am aware of the needs I cannot meet them.

Please email earthenirvana@gmail.com with times and dates for use, going forward. as well as making the calendar listing, I think this will be helpful to everyone.

Many Thanks,

I don't know if anyone has heard of Strawberries and Cream... no not the fruit and dairy product, but an enviromental group from the Netherlands. They have this great idea of contacting local bars (I'm sure restaraunts would work also) and asking them how much percentage of one nights income they would spend to remodel thier business to be more eco-friendly. In return the Starwberries and Cream would get more people to come that night and the company would get more business. The organization ...

Hi Everybody,

In the next couple of days we plan to launch an updated section of the website describing all the roles that need to be filled (Board positions and beyond), the process for how this will happen, the draft bylaws, and a notice to check back for the Interim Action Committee's recommendation for GC action regarding stimulus spending.

An email blast will be sent to GC supporters (about 450 people) to let them know to check the website to find out about the structure of ...
